Abstract

This study explores research skill development in Islamic higher education. Utilizing a qualitative approach, interviews and surveys were conducted among faculty and students. The purpose was to understand the current state of research skills and to propose a framework for improvement. Findings indicate a need for structured research training, particularly in areas such as literature review, methodology selection, and data analysis. The proposed framework emphasizes mentorship, workshops, and interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance research competencies among stakeholders. Results suggest that implementing this framework could significantly improve the quality and quantity of research output in Islamic higher education institutions. This study contributes to the ongoing discourse on research capacity building in specialized academic settings, offering practical insights for educators and policymakers seeking to enhance research culture and productivity.
